Hi, my name is Tammy Kresge and I own the blog Organize Yourself Skinny. You would think that because I write a blog about losing weight that I'm a health nut or an exercise freak. Well I'm not. I'm just a busy working mother who wants to feel good on the inside and look smokin hot on the outside. Haha! But seriously, I was sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. So in October 2010 I decided to change the direction of my life.

I didn't follow a fad diet. I didn't deprived myself. I didn't kill myself at the gym. What I did do was create pratical weight loss systems that gave me the structure I needed to lose weight and keep it off. I found a way to change my habits and lifestyle all while working full-time and raising two little girls.

After the weight came off my life changed! I looked better than I did in my 20s and felt amazing. I never thought losing weight was in the stars for me but all I needed to do was take a step back and put in place strategies that would stick.

It's difficult for me to even look at this picture. 5 years ago I was a different person. For one, I looked different. I was 40 pounds heavier with shorter hair and a questionable fashion sense. My kids were 5 and 3 years old and I was surviving off leftover macaroni and cheese along with LOTS OF COFFEE. Sound familiar?

I worked full-time outside the house and barely had time to fix my hair every morning – I was an expert in the wet ponytail look. Life was extremely chaotic. 

This picture was my oldest first day of kindergarten so I had to get ready. But just like with many pictures back then - I'm hiding behind my girls.

Losing weight was something I thought about often, would try every now and then, but never created any real sustainable changes. I didn’t know where to start or what to do. It was depressing. That girl back then was not happy and she was ready for a change.

4 years later and 40 pounds lighter (give or take depending on the week) I was able to create real sustainable changes. I transformed into a new woman. I did not just changed physically. Sure losing 40lbs transforms your looks but I noticed changes in every area of my life. 

I started running 5k races and got involved in all kinds of activites. I spent a lot more time with friends and family. Basically, I got off the couch and learned to enjoy life. 

Losing weight brought out a confidence and happiness in me that I didn't even know I was lacking. Losing weight truly changed my life.

For the first time I could walk into a store, try on clothes, and feel amazing. I started to wear dresses, skirts, tank tops, and even bought a couple bikinis! 

However, it was more than the bikinis. It was the confidence I felt trying it on. For the first time I loved the way my body looked. 

This is me today! I feel more confident and happier than ever. I look forward to running into people I haven't seen in a long time and get excited to try new things. I'm no longer hiding behind my kids in pictures.

More importantly I feel absolutely amazing. I'm healthier than ever and look better than I did in my 20s. Life is good!
